I’m still basking in the glow of a magical night at the gallery. Truly. Lori Vrba completely transformed the gallery into a miracle of creativity. Southern Comfort is like nothing you have ever seen before.
The gallery was full all night long. We had delicious soul food bites to eat, a photobooth with take-away instant film prints, rock-a-billy tunes playing, and an impromptu artist talk that had people hanging on Lori’s every word. And then there was the Westside Fizz – the cocktail to end all cocktails – provided by Cathead Vodka. Many requests for the recipe on that one. I’m not sure if it’s a secret, so while I find out, feel free to come by and sample from the pitcher I plan to have mixed and ready to go at all times. (Yes, they’re that good.)
In case you missed it, you can watch this video from the opening with a short clip of Lori’s talk. But you really must come to the gallery to experience this work for yourself. It will take your breath away.
